When you buy jeans off-the-rack, it can be notoriously troublesome to find the perfect fit. If the waist is fine, the thighs might be too tight. If the thighs are perfect, the length will be off.
No doubt, you have your favorite brand, but could you be compromising along the way? The solution is bespoke jeans: a custom pair made precisely to your requirements and pinpoint measurements.
ENSURING QUALITY DENIM
Quality denim has become an iconic smart-casual look. It’s a robust cotton twill with 2 x 1 warp-faced weaves. That’s one weft passing under two warp yarns. This creates the diagonal ribbing on the back of the fabric.
Selvedge denim is the most exclusive denim fabric. Weaving it on a shuttle loom produces a tight self-edging that won’t unravel. The selvedge is often white with coloured thread on the border. You can see this on rolled-up cuffs.
Few fabric mills now use this traditional weaving method, but jeans produced in this way are incomparably superior in design and feel.
HOW A SENSZIO PERSONAL STYLIST CAN HELP YOU REALISE YOUR PERFECT JEANS
When you book an appointment to be measured for your denim jean (at your place of work or home), you’ll enjoy the attentions of a personal stylist. You’ll be asked how you prefer to wear your jeans.
We’ll discuss different fabric options and styling details. These will include rivet color, thread color, and whether you prefer a zip or button fly. Your stylist will then take your precise measurements so that we achieve the perfect fit. When we have your fit just right, we’ll retain your pattern on file to make future orders simple.
You’ll be able to choose from a wide range of denims. These include Japanese selvedge, cashmere, and premium stretch. Our stylist will also present you with a variety of colors and weights.
CONSTRUCTING YOUR TAILORED JEANS
Here’s how we construct your bespoke jeans…
Your custom jeans will be handmade in our bespoke workshop by a skilled craftsman with over 40 years’ experience. We’ll cut a unique paper pattern for each jean that we place on the fabric so we can hand-cut the different segments and sew them together by hand.
Before we cut the jeans, we carry out a shrinkage test on each individual fabric. This is so we can adjust the fabric to the correct size and ensure a precise fit after we’ve completed your garment.
After we’ve sewn the jeans, we laundry-wash using formulas made of enzyme, silicone signer and stone. If you want the ripped look, we can create this using golf balls and laser treatment. After the laundry, we add on buttons and rivets.
OVER 100 DENIMS
We can cut and tailor a pair of jeans in a single day. However, it’s the washing that takes up the most time as we wash each pair one piece at a time. Since we process many orders for jeans, we advise a period of three to four weeks to complete your order.
You can select your perfect jeans from over 100 denims, including Loro Piana denim, Selvedge denim 4.2oz – 32oz (Japan and USA), non-Selvedge denim (Japan), premium stretch, and premium cotton/cashmere, in a large variety of colours.
